Description

Indulge in the creamy, cheesy goodness of Ruth’s Chris Cheesy Potatoes, a comforting dish that pairs perfectly with any meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs Potatoes (Russet or Yukon Gold)
  • 1 cup Cheddar Cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup Gruyère Cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream
  • 4 tbsp Butter
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 medium Onion, diced
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste
  • Fresh herbs (thyme or chives), optional

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Peel and slice the potatoes into even rounds, about a quarter-inch thick.
  3. In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat, add garlic and onions, sautéing until translucent and fragrant.
  4. In a greased baking dish, layer half of the potatoes, sprinkle with sautéed garlic and onions, half of the cheeses, and season with salt and pepper. Repeat with remaining potatoes and cheese.
  5. Carefully pour heavy cream over the layered potatoes for even distribution.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for about an hour. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until the top is golden brown and bubbly.
  7. Let sit for 10 minutes before serving to meld flavors.

Notes

Ensure potatoes are sliced evenly to promote even cooking. Let the dish rest after baking for the best texture.
