Ingredients

  • 1 wheel of Brie cheese
  • 1 package of puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 cup unsalted pistachios, chopped
  • 1 cup dried cranberries
  • 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
  • Fresh herbs (thyme or rosemary), optional
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface into a triangle or Christmas tree shape.
  3. Spread the softened Brie on the pastry, leaving a border around the edges.
  4. Sprinkle the chopped pistachios and dried cranberries over the Brie, then drizzle with honey or maple syrup.
  5. Fold the edges of the pastry towards the center to enclose the filling and shape it into a Christmas tree.
  6. Cut slits into the sides to create branches.
  7. Brush the top with the egg wash.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and puffy.
  9. Allow to cool slightly before serving with crackers or fresh fruit.

Notes

For a different flavor, you can substitute Brie with soft goat cheese and walnuts for pistachios. Best served warm.
