Ingredients
Scale
- 2 large sweet onions, sliced into thin rings
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 eggs, whisked
- 1 cup seasoned breadcrumbs
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
- Peel and slice the onions into thin rings, about half an inch thick.
- Set up three stations: one with a mixture of flour, salt, and spices; one with whisked eggs; and one with breadcrumbs.
- Dip each onion ring into the flour mixture, then the egg wash, and finally coat with breadcrumbs.
- Heat about an inch of oil in a deep skillet over medium-high heat.
- Fry the onion rings in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes on each side.
- Remove and place on paper towels to drain excess oil. Sprinkle with salt while warm.
- Serve with your favorite dips.
Notes
Ensure your oil is hot enough to avoid soggy chips. Let onion rings drain on paper towels to reduce greasiness.
