Description

Crispy onion ring chips that are the perfect snack for any gathering. Enjoy the delightful blend of sweet onion flavor and crunchy texture.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large sweet onions, sliced into thin rings
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs, whisked
  • 1 cup seasoned breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Peel and slice the onions into thin rings, about half an inch thick.
  2. Set up three stations: one with a mixture of flour, salt, and spices; one with whisked eggs; and one with breadcrumbs.
  3. Dip each onion ring into the flour mixture, then the egg wash, and finally coat with breadcrumbs.
  4. Heat about an inch of oil in a deep skillet over medium-high heat.
  5. Fry the onion rings in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes on each side.
  6. Remove and place on paper towels to drain excess oil. Sprinkle with salt while warm.
  7. Serve with your favorite dips.

Notes

Ensure your oil is hot enough to avoid soggy chips. Let onion rings drain on paper towels to reduce greasiness.
