Description

A delightful explosion of flavors, Korean Fire Chicken combines tender chicken with a spicy-sweet sauce for a satisfying meal that brings family and friends together.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb boneless chicken (breast or thighs)
  • 3 tbsp gochujang (Korean chili paste)
  • 3 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch ginger, minced
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil (plus more for serving)
  • Green onions for garnish
  • Sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cut chicken into bite-sized pieces. In a bowl, combine gochujang, soy sauce, minced garlic, and ginger. Toss in chicken until well coated and let marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Heat sesame oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add sliced onions and bell peppers, sauté until tender.
  3. Push veggies to the side, add marinated chicken, and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Stir to combine.
  4. Drizzle with more sesame oil, sprinkle with green onions and sesame seeds, and simmer for another minute.
  5. Serve with steamed rice or noodles.

Notes

For extra sweetness, feel free to add honey. Adapt vegetables based on what’s fresh.
