  • White icing (store-bought or homemade)
  • Ghost decorations (candy eyes or similar)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour your cake pans.
  2. Cream together the unsalted butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together cake flour, baking powder, and baking soda. Gradually add to wet ingredients, alternating with milk, until smooth.
  5. Fold in chocolate chips gently until evenly distributed.
  6. Pour batter into prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Cool in pans for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. Icing with white icing and decorate with candy eyes and sprinkles before serving.

Notes

For substitutions, consider using all-purpose flour or coconut oil. For an egg-free version, mashed bananas or unsweetened applesauce can work as replacements.
