- 1 cup buttermilk
- 2 tbsp Cajun seasoning
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cornmeal

- Lemon wedges for serving
Instructions
- Marinate shrimp in buttermilk and Cajun seasoning for 30 minutes to 1 hour.
- In a separate bowl, mix flour, cornmeal, salt, pepper, and additional Cajun seasoning.
- Heat oil in a deep skillet to 350°F.
- Remove shrimp from marinade, allowing excess to drip off, then dredge in seasoned flour and cornmeal mixture.
- Carefully drop coated shrimp into hot oil, frying them in batches for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown.
- Transfer cooked shrimp to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
- Serve hot, garnished with fresh herbs and lemon wedges.
Notes
For extra crunch, consider adding panko breadcrumbs. Avoid overcrowding the pan when frying.
